Description:

So far in this opening chapter, Peter has told his readers that because of the magnificent salvation God has provided them, He calls those who truly know Him to holiness. We are reminded in this study that even though we have absolutely nothing to do with our salvation, we are an integral part of the process of sanctification. It is to this process that Peter now turns his attention. First, by highlighting several of the fruits of salvation-- obedience to the truth and love of the brethren. And them by making a profound comparison between the frailty of human existence and the imperishable seed that has been planted in them by the Spirit and the Word of God. We will ultimately learn that Christianity is an "all-in" religion and that those who desire to be true disciples of Christ must learn to live "Coram Deo" (in the presence of God)!
