Description:

When Jesus suddenly appears in the Temple at the Feast of Booths, He is almost immediately confronted by the religious leaders who have been hoping to arrest Him. The conversation turns to their complaint from the 5th chapter, that not only did Jesus break the Sabbath in healing the paralytic at the Pool of Bethesda, but that He instructed the man to break the Sabbath as well. In His answer, Jesus will tell us far more than just His reasoning for healing on the Sabbath. He will give us a concrete example of the principles we have been learning over the last few weeks: that faith, love, obedience, knowledge and glory are all integral parts of our judgments and each is necessary for those judgments to be "right judgments". After discussing all aspects of the text, we will develop a formula for bringing glory to God through our thoughts and deeds that incorporates not only these principles but the analogies we have developed over the last several messages. In the end, we will learn that one of the best ways to fill the frames of our lives with activities and decisions that bring glory to God is to approach each step with sanctified judgment.
