Description:

At last we come to the culmination of Daniel's 70-week prophecy. In this message we will deal almost exclusively with the final week and the "strong covenant" that it refers to. As you might expect by looking at the text, we will spend quite some time trying to de-cipher the meaning of the last week, why it is split in two, what the significance of "3.5 years" is in Scripture, and whether to interpret the timeline chronologically, figuratively, or a combination of the two. But in the end we will try to put the controversies concerning the timeline behind us and focus in on the glory of the prophecy-- that God will accomplish all He has promised in the 24th verse, the atonement for and eradication of sin, true righteousness for God's people, the fulfillment of all prophecies (and covenants), and the anointing of a new holy place-- all through a strong covenant that the "anointed one" will make with the people of God. This is the power of Christ for salvation, and it is marvelous in our eyes!
